Mystery Bug

Okay so this is kinda gross but necessary so hang in there. I found this "thing" on the wall by Makayla's bed as I was putting her down for her nap last week. Ewww!!
I tried looking it up online already but couldn't find anything that looked like it. I tried ticks, mites, bed bugs, fleas....nothin'.
It freaks me out just a tad knowing it was in my nice clean house....if anyone has any clue post a comment will ya?
Thanks - Kim

Hey Kim, I'm in an event called Entomology (study of bugs) for Science Olympiad. Kinda boring but I thought I would do a little research:

I think that this is what it is. Looks a lot alike and they're found in MI.

LUKE...you're amazing!!! Gross to actually know what it is, but amazing nonetheless!! =) Thank you....I'll pass the info along to Dan cuzz he was as stumped as I was!
I couldn't find what they eat..did I just miss that? Also, they don't live in "groups" do they? If I see one there's not any more lurking in the shadows RIGHT?!?

Luke, Uncle David & I just finished reading about the 'bug'. . . .very interesting and who would have thought that the blog could be so educational! Kimberly, I think that proved that it is NOT something you did or didn't do to attract such an interesting creature! If it was, trust me, they would be living at my house.

Hey Kim, glad to help, pseudoscorpions are harmless to people, especially Makayla! They have a minute amount of poison, but that is only for the small insects they eat.

kim, that is so cool.....a pseudoscorpion right in your own house.....and from reading the notes it sounds kind of rare! says it eats mites and stuff so keeps your house clean. Cool!

Cool huh??...that wasn't exactly the first word that came to mind when I saw the thing!!! It's dead now (Brenda said I should've put it in a jar...I THINK she's got the mentality to "save the bugs" from Gavin) - I smooshed it, put in in the trash and then took the trash out to the garage just to make sure it was really dead and gone!

Oh Kim,
I am sorry but I just cracked up when I saw this picture. You of all people found this wonderful spider looking bug on your wall. Sorry... no idea what it is. Love ya!!

OK - I again was cracking up when I read Brenda's comment. Gavin would love to keep the bug... I am not sure I am ready to have a boy... SOME DAY.
